Elan SAS, headquartered in Bordeaux, holds the status of Négociant Bordelais (Bordeaux wine merchant). This status allows the company to purchase wines directly from Château cellars, ensuring its end customers total traceability and a supply chain free of intermediaries.
None of the competitors of Elan’s subsidiaries are able to guarantee such a service, as no local importer holds this Négociant status.
Furthermore, the Group limits its partnerships to a select number of prestigious Châteaux, with which it establishes privileged collaborations. These include organizing exclusive dinners in partnership with top on-trade accounts and offering various vintages and formats to the market.
This highly controlled and direct approach gradually enables the Group to secure exclusive agreements in certain countries — for example, with Petrus (Kazakhstan, Korea, Australia) and Anseillan from Château Lafite (China).
